The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced that Cadillac Asphalt LLC won eight Quality in Construction Awards for excellence in construction of asphalt pavement for projects in 2024. NAPA stated that the results of these projects produced smooth, high-quality asphalt roads, most of which included reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into the project mixes.

Brady Meldrem, 2024 NAPA Chair said, “The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building high-quality projects that deliver superior performance to the traveling public. All contractors’ projects earning
a Quality in Construction award are measured against best practices designed to live up to that
commitment. Earning the Quality in Construction Award demonstrates that Cadillac Asphalt LLC, a CRH
Co., has met or exceeded these rigorous standards.”

The projects that won the awards include:

Davison Freeway in Wayne County, MI. Cadillac crews cold milled the road, made crack repairs and
concrete pavement repairs, then placed a 1.5-inch asphalt overlay on the road. Crews also installed
guardrails and added pavement markings and incorporated RAP into the project mixes.

Stewart Road in Monroe County, MI. Cadillac crews cold milled the joints at either end of the two-mile
project before placing a 1.5-inch asphalt overlay on it, and incorporated RAP in the mix. Crews maintained
one lane of traffic at all times while producing a smooth, high-quality pavement.

US-12 from Freer Street to Livernois in Detroit, MI. The project included 1.5-inch full-width milling,
followed by a 1.5-inch asphalt surface overlay.

13 Mile Road in Novi, MI. Cadillac fully reconstructed the westbound side of the road and milled and filled
the eastbound portion and also built an asphalt sidewalk path. The company incorporated RAP in the
project mixes.

Seymour Lake Road in Oakland County, MI. Cadillac trenched, widened and milled the road before placing
a 2-inch asphalt overlay on it. The asphalt mixes for the project incorporated RAP. Crews produced a
smooth asphalt road that the inspection team praised as one of the best overlay projects they had seen.

Secor Road in Monroe County, MI. Cadillac milled the road and then placed a 2-inch asphalt overlay on it.
The asphalt mixes included 29% RAP.

M-5 in Wayne County, MI. The project was a cold mill and fill on a three mile stretch of M-5 in Redford. The
project included concrete pavement and crack repairs, curb and gutter, and ADA ramp upgrades, then
placing 1.5-inch asphalt overlay on the road. RAP was incorporated into mixes used on the project.

County Center Drive East in the city of Pontiac, MI. The project was located at one of the main roads to
and from Oakland County official establishments. The scope included storm sewer reconstruction, curb
and gutter, aggregate base, HMA paving, detention basin, permanent signing, and pavement marking
installation. Total tons placed in full depth pavement was 3,700 tons of HMA.
