Cadillac Asphalt Employee Spotlighted by City of Detroit, WWJ

A WWJ 950 reporter and members of the City of Detroit Press Team came to the East Jefferson Road Job on August 30 to interview Cadillac Asphalt Employee Beulah Walker. Walker received her Journeyman's certification through an apprenticeship program run by Cadillac Asphalt.

Beulah sang the praises of construction jobs, calling her apprenticeship and job offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "I feel so much pride every time I look at my Journeymen card," said Walker. "You can go as far as you want to go with a career in construction."

Beulah, along with fellow-laborer Rigo Salinas and Foreman Devin Moss, demonstrated for City of Detroit Press Secretary Georgette Johnson the role of a Traffic Crew, and how they place cones for safety, and how they go about gathering the cones at the end of a project. The interview took place along the recently completed Jefferson Road job, which repaved 5 miles between Grosse Pointe Park and 375.
